Introduction:
The establishment of a Tribal Development and Research Cell (TDRC) in our college is a significant
step towards fostering a deeper understanding and engagement with tribal communities. GACSC
Kachhal has established TDRC on January 2, 2023 to conduct interdisciplinary research that
addresses the socio-economic, cultural, and environmental needs of tribal communities in Mahuva
District. The TDRC will serve as a hub for research, development, and collaboration, aiming to
address the unique challenges faced by tribal populations. Through this cell, the college will
contribute to enhance educational opportunities, and supporting sustainable development
initiatives.
Vision: – To be a leading College for tribal research and development that empowers tribal communities, preserves indigenous knowledge, and promotes sustainable and inclusive growth. – To explore ideas for students to establish new start-up by using wood, Honey, Nagli, Bamboo raw material.
Mission: – To conduct interdisciplinary research that addresses the socio-economic, cultural, and environmental needs of tribal communities. – To promote awareness and appreciation of tribal cultures, traditions, and knowledge systems.
Objective: – Research and Documentation: Conduct research on issues relevant to tribal communities, such as health, education and livelihood. – Capacity Building: Organize training programs, workshops, and seminars for students, faculty, and tribal members to build skills and knowledge in areas like sustainable development, health care, education, and governance. – Advocacy and Awareness: Raise awareness about the rights and issues of tribal communities through campaigns, publications, and public events.
